About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to lead and maintain our company-wide Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. This position plays a critical role in internal auditing, quality control, departmental leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration to continually improve product and process quality. You will serve as a key Quality System Management representative and oversee a team of nine within an industrial metal shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, maintain, and improve the company’s ISO 9001‑compliant Quality Management System; ensure continued alignment with AS9100 requirements.Manage and perform internal audits, corrective actions, and follow-through on quality improvement initiatives.Supervise all inspection activities, including incoming material inspection, in‑process inspections, and final product inspection prior to shipment.Control and update all quality documentation: Quality Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and related records.Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Black Belt methodologies to drive continuous improvement.Prepare and present QMS data for quarterly executive board reviews, including audit findings and quality trends.Partner with all departments to address quality concerns, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.Support process improvement using statistical techniques and structured quality tools (FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans).Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment (aerospace/defense experience preferred).Demonstrated experience in ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 environments; certification is a plus.Strong background in Quality Engineering, inspection, and quality auditing.Proficiency with precision measurement tools: calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, gauges, CMM equipment, etc.Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and customer technical documentation.Solid understanding of PPAP, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective action methodologies.Strong leadership capability with excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.Knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools and Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred.Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.Additional Qualifications
