Job Title: Quality Lead

Job Description

As a Quality Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring all activities align with our Quality Management System. You will lead a team in creating, revising, and optimizing both offline and online CMM programs and reports, ensuring adherence to customer print specifications. You will also delegate programming and production support priorities within the CMM Programming/Operating team.

Responsibilities

Create CMM setup and operational instructions specific to parts and machines.Analyze and interpret CMM reports to verify compliance with customer specifications.Train inspectors in the use of CMM and guide CMM programmers on complex parts and processes.Oversee daily and weekly maintenance of CMM machines and ensure that the CMM Software (Calypso) is up-to-date and maintained.Ensure correct storage and backup of all programs and data generated by CMM machines.Support the QC team with First Article Inspection (FAI), In-Process, or Final Inspection activities as needed.Prepare detailed inspection reports, including written descriptions of inspection results and statistical analysis reports.Provide technical assistance and training to production, manufacturing engineering, and quality personnel.Act as a technical expert on GD&T and interpretation of ASME Y14.5M, staying current with standards, terminology, and inspection methodologies.Follow internal inspection procedures and maintain inspection records.Maintain the ERP system according to company policies.Stay current with industry inspection techniques, practices, and required standards.Perform First Piece, Lot, and Final Inspections against customer requirements.Perform additional duties as assigned, such as Calibration, Audits, CAPA, Customer Complaints, and RMAs.

Essential Skills

Eligibility to obtain Secret level security clearance.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Experience with First Article Inspection and data reporting.Proven ability to troubleshoot CMM faults.Experience in CMM work is required.2+ years of experience with Calypso Zeiss CMM software preferred, but PC-DMIS experience is acceptable.Calypso programming language experience.Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Willingness to work overtime.Ability to meet deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Aerospace experience desired.

Work Environment

This role is within a mid-size manufacturing company specializing in the Aerospace and Defense industry. The workplace is a CNC shop environment, noted for being very clean compared to non-A&D shops. The company is in the process of streamlining engineering and quality processes for operational efficiency. The environment is stable, offers the potential to gain a Secret Clearance, and combines the resources of a larger company with the close-knit atmosphere of a small company.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reisterstown, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
