The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring product integrity and compliance with customer requirements. This position supports both internal operations and customer-facing initiatives through rigorous testing, documentation, and collaboration with technical and sales teams.
ResponsibilitiesConduct material testing and release processes by sampling, testing, and approving incoming raw materials and finished products to meet specifications and customer requirements.Provide support for manufacturing areas, including blending and mixing batches of product as needed.Perform routine and advanced quality tests, including appearance, specific gravity, pH, and refractive index measurements, as well as coating weight and adhesion testing.Execute various panel tests for corrosion resistance and coating performance.Prepare internal lab samples and reagents, maintain inventory of retained samples, and manage rotation schedules.Generate Certificates of Analysis and maintain accurate records of all testing activities.Ensure compliance with quality standards and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Assist chemists and technical staff with special projects under the direction of leadership.Provide technical support for sales initiatives and customer projects.Essential SkillsProficiency in quality control and assurance.Strong laboratory skills.Experience in chemistry and related fields.Ability to conduct analysis, blending, and mixing.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma required.Associates or Bachelor degree in scientific discipline preferred.1-3 years of experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) QA/QC lab environment.New graduates with chemistry or related technical degrees will be considered if lacking GMP lab experience.Ability to support other areas, including blending/mixing as needed.Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves manufacturing processes related to metal working fluids, lubricants, coolants, and more. The position offers the opportunity to work in a new laboratory facility, with the chance to develop SOPs and implement quality functions. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
