Quality Inspector
**Job Title: Quality Inspector** **Job Description** The Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring product conformity to established requirements by evaluating product drawings, specifications, and related documents. This role involves conducting receiving, in-process, and final product inspections, and documenting results in various reports/logs in the Quality System. The position may interface with customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies as necessary. Employees may also perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. **Responsibilities** + Conduct inspections at First Article, set-up approvals, in-process, in-coming, and complete the final inspections in accordance with applicable Engineering criteria, documents, drawings, and workmanship standards. + Input and perform trending of key inspection process metrics. + Document and report inspection findings and results, and monitor corrective actions to inspection findings. + Communicate findings and coordinate activities with production, tooling, and shipping/receiving staff. + Perform inspections using Precision Measurement equipment/devices. + Perform functional testing of assembled units. + Ensure proper operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions. + Read and interpret specifications and part drawings. + Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required. + Assist Engineering and Operations in the investigation of non-conformities. + Assist in training production staff in quality assurance techniques. + Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures and comply with all applicable regulations. + Work effectively in a team setting. + Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Extensive knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including surface plates, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, radius gages, bore gauges, and dial indicators. + Awareness of ISO9001, TS16949 & ISO13485 Quality management systems. + Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Practices, Metrics, and Reporting. + Working knowledge of Statistical Techniques. + Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). + Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. + Ability to read and accurately interpret documents written in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, measuring instruments, work instructions, bills of material, and procedure manuals. + Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. + Ability to speak effectively before management or employees of the organization. + Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Associate or bachelor’s degree in technical discipline preferred. + ASQ Certification Preferred. + Good manual dexterity and adept in use of precision measuring tools. + Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. **Why Work Here?** Our company values a dynamic work environment where collaboration and teamwork drive success. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high places, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat is possible. The noise level is usually moderate. Employees are expected to follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. The position offers both first shift (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and second shift (2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) options. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, PA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
