Quality Inspector
Job Title: Quality InspectorJob Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. You will be responsible for pulling and labeling product samples for testing and shelf-life checks, performing taste and texture evaluations, managing pest control programs, and running microbiological tests on various product stages. You will also maintain lab equipment, enter sample data into the LIMS system, and verify product labels and code dates for accuracy.

ResponsibilitiesPull and label product samples for testing and shelf-life checks.Perform taste and texture evaluations for products such as sour cream and cottage cheese.Manage pest control program across the facility.Run microbiological tests on raw, in-process, and finished products.Calibrate and troubleshoot lab equipment as needed.Enter sample data into the LIMS system daily.Verify product labels and code dates for accuracy.Support GMP audits, state inspections, and customer audit preparation.Maintain a clean and organized lab environment.Communicate key testing results to management based on SOPs.Track and restock lab supplies as needed.Pull extra samples for shelf-life and retention programs.Handle water, environmental, and special project testing.Validate records throughout the facility to ensure compliance.Coordinate vendor updates and quarterly scorecards.
Essential SkillsExperience in food/lab quality assurance and control.High School Diploma.Computer literacy in data entry, tracking, and communication.Experience in calibration, monitoring, microbiological testing, quality checks, and inspections.Proficiency with microscopes, vendors, fat testing, pH testing, yeast count, and mold count.
Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to lift and bend with up to 50 lbs.A degree is not required for this role.

Work Environment

You will work in a lab environment on the 2nd shift. There are two options for shift timing: Option 1 runs from 3pm to 1:30am from Wednesday to Saturday, and Option 2 rotates weekly with shifts on Sunday to Wednesday in the first week, and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday in the second week. The production floor is very clean, highly automated, and maintains a cool environment due to the nature of dairy products.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wooster, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.
