Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team. This role involves ensuring the quality and compliance of purchased parts and subassemblies with all relevant specifications and requirements. The Quality Inspector will perform inspections at various stages of the production process and serve as a key liaison with Quality Engineering.

ResponsibilitiesPerform receiving and inspection of purchased parts and subassemblies, verifying supplier compliance with purchase order requirements, specifications, and drawings.Conduct dimensional inspections using hand-held instruments to measure parts and assemblies according to drawing requirements.Execute in-process inspections of assembled hardware per drawing requirements, verifying accuracy of entries on data sheets, work orders, adhesive mixes, and other data-keeping systems.Perform final inspections of assembled hardware per drawing requirements and liaise with the program Quality Engineer to report quality problems or findings.Assist Quality Engineering and Operations in investigating non-conformities.Accurately document the results of inspections.Review work orders prior to closure to verify count and condition of parts or assemblies, completion of operations, accuracy of associated kit lists, and correct labeling of parts.Assist the Quality Engineer in collecting data for the assemblies' End Item Data Package.Perform source inspections at sub-tier suppliers as needed.Essential SkillsKnowledge of aerospace systems, methodology, and terminology.Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO9001 requirements.Proficiency in documenting product quality through paper and electronic systems including Word, Excel, and web-based systems.Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in an environment with competing priorities.Knowledge of calibration systems and internal controls associated with calibration.Additional Skills & QualificationsOccasional work in confined spaces and at heights of 30 ft. or more in a scissor lift.Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision.Occasional travel up to 5-10% for project testing.Work Environment

The Quality Inspector will work in a manufacturing setting, performing inspections and quality checks on various parts and assemblies. The role may involve working in confined spaces and at significant heights. The position requires occasional travel for project testing.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goleta, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
