Overview

We are seeking to hire an experienced Quality Inspector on the 2ndshift for a manufacturing company in Elk Grove Village. The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, and finished products meet the required quality standards and specifications as defined by the Quality Management System (QMS). This position plays a critical role in upholding the commitment to delivering high-quality products by conducting thorough inspections and collaborating to address quality concerns.

ResponsibilitiesConduct detailed inspections—both visual and dimensional—of aerospace, medical, semiconductor, and related components and assemblies to ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, and customer requirements.Perform first article inspections with approval from Quality Control (QC) leadership.Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other measurement instruments to measure dimensions and tolerances accurately.Audit all incoming materials to ensure accompanying documentation aligns with engineering drawings, purchase order requirements, and industry standards.Review and verify all in-process documentation and Epicor system transactions for accuracy.Generate stock labels and manage inventory documentation through the Epicor ERP system.Accurately record inspection results in accordance with established work instructions and procedures.Essential SkillsBasic understanding of mechanical drawings and blueprints.Basic knowledge in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.Understanding of computing skills, including experience with MS Office and MRP systems (preferably Epicor).Excellent time management and organizational abilities.Ability to communicate effectively with QC leadership, promoting collaboration and resolution of non-conformance issues.Additional Skills & Qualifications2-3 years of experience in quality control inspection, preferably within aerospace or medical device.Interest in developing skills in quality control, inspection, or manufacturing.Basic understanding of measurement tools and willingness to learn technical procedures.Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow written instructions and procedures.Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer usage; ERP system experience is a plus.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is a plus, but not required—training will be provided.High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical or vocational training in manufacturing, engineering, or quality is a plus.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
