Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description

The Quality Inspector I is an entry-level position tasked with performing visual and dimensional in-process inspections using basic inspection tools under the direct supervision of a Lead or Master Inspector, with guidance from an Inspector III or II. This role involves the review of documentation and conducting visual and mechanical inspections to ensure that raw materials, purchased products, and services, as well as the output of production processes, comply with contract requirements.

ResponsibilitiesAccurately complete required time entries and inspection entries on job travelers, inspection reports, and other documentation as required.Document and report nonconforming equipment, raw materials, processes, and products. Ensure proper identification and segregation of nonconforming items.Perform first piece, in-process, receiving, and final inspections under direct supervision.Verify that the equipment being used is in calibration.Essential SkillsProficiency in visual and dimensional in-process inspections.Experience with first article and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).Basic knowledge of quality inspection and quality control (QA/QC).Ability to perform visual and mechanical inspections.Familiarity with blueprints, calipers, micrometers, and surface plates.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Ability to speak, read, and write English, including understanding verbal and written instructions.Basic math skills.Desirable computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.).Ability to read drawings/specifications and demonstrate proficiency in reading blueprints within 90 days of hire.Ability to read measurement devices and use basic inspection tools correctly.Ability to set up and perform basic visual and dimensional inspections within 90 days of hire.Ability to lift 50+ lbs.Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance in a metal fabrication, welding, machining, or assembly environment preferred.Experience in a machining, sheet metal/fabrication, or composite manufacturing environment is desirable.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Join a defense manufacturer specializing in various government contract products. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with a willingness to work 10-15 hours of overtime weekly, including weekends.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
