Quality Engineer
Quality Engineer We are seeking a hands‑on Quality Engineer to support product assurance across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program teams. This individual will serve as the primary quality liaison for assigned programs, driving compliance to AS9100/ISO 9001 standards, supporting troubleshooting on the production floor, and leading corrective action efforts. Most work is performed directly on the manufacturing floor, with additional planning and reporting tasks completed at the desk. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems at the source, collaborating cross‑functionally, and contributing to long‑term product reliability in a regulated environment. Location: Farmingdale, NY 11735 Employment Type: Permanent Salary Range: $80,000–$95,000 Schedule: 9/80 (Every other Friday off) Key Responsibilities + Serve as the program’s single point of contact for all Product Assurance and Quality requirements + Lead cross‑functional quality efforts and make independent decisions to ensure adherence to quality and reliability standards + Develop, implement, and maintain program‑specific quality procedures and plans + Track program budgets, define work scope, and manage assignments for team members + Support proposals for new programs, including defining quality requirements and estimating scope + Collect and analyze program quality metrics to identify trends and risks + Prepare and present status reports to internal leadership and customers + Generate, track, and close internal and supplier Corrective Action Requests (CARs) + Perform root cause analysis and drive CAPA effectiveness + Conduct detailed contract reviews to determine quality and regulatory requirements + Maintain monitoring systems and PC‑based tools for planning, tracking, and performance evaluation + Work closely with operations to support troubleshooting, repair, retesting, and floor‑based quality activities + Occasional overnight travel required Required Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred) + 2+ years of Quality Engineering or related experience + Strong knowledge of: + CAPA + Internal/external audits + Root cause analysis + Quality control methods + AS9100 & ISO 9001 + Hands‑on experience with testing and inspecting electronic components + Ability to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and related tools + Experience developing corrective action plans and working within a Quality Management System + Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications + Experience in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated manufacturing environments + Exposure to export‑controlled work environments + Ability to work both independently and within cross‑functional teams Work Environment + Primarily located on the manufacturing floor, working at designated benches and workstations + Involvement in troubleshooting, identifying issues, replacing/repairing components, and retesting + May work in test or environmental chambers depending on program needs + Training provided; close support from leads and supervisors + 9/80 schedule (nine‑hour days with every other Friday off) + Bi‑weekly pay Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Farmingdale, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
