Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer supports the Quality Manager in developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role requires strong experience in nondestructive testing (NDT), naval and aerospace specifications, metallurgy, and compliance with ISO, NADCAP, Electric Boat, and NAVSEA requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Systems & Compliance
+ Develop, maintain, and improve ISO 9001 and NADCAP quality systems
+ Create and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and specifications
+ Conduct internal and external audits
+ Manage nonconformance, corrective action, and continuous improvement processes
+ Analyze quality metrics and drive improvement initiatives
Customer & Contract Support
+ Perform contract reviews and ensure quality requirements are fully implemented
+ Interface with customers on quality issues, audits, and procedure approvals
+ Investigate customer complaints and perform root cause analysis
+ Prepare and submit Nonconformance Material Reports (NCMRs)
Technical & Manufacturing Support
+ Interpret and implement Electric Boat and NAVSEA specifications
+ Review military, aerospace, and industry standards
+ Support naval shipbuilding quality requirements
+ Provide technical support to manufacturing engineering
+ Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and machining drawings
NDT, Materials & Heat Treat
+ Oversee nondestructive examination processes
+ Review and approve NDT procedures
+ Approve raw material receipts and material certifications
+ Analyze mill test reports and approve CMTRs
+ Maintain expertise in AMS 2750E pyrometry requirements
+ Review heat treatment procedures and temperature uniformity surveys
+ Ensure calibration and maintenance of heat treatment equipment
Documentation & Leadership
+ Conduct final reviews of quality documentation packages
+ Ensure traceability and record retention
+ Direct and coordinate quality personnel as needed
+ Provide quality-related training to employees
Required Qualifications
+ Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Experience with NDT methods and standards
+ Working knowledge of Electric Boat and/or NAVSEA specifications
+ Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 and NADCAP
+ Strong understanding of metallurgy, forging, machining, and heat treatment
+ Proficiency in GD&T and technical drawings
+ Familiarity with AMS 2750E
+ Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
+ Experience with quality management software
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
+ AS9100 or ISO 9001 training
+ Quality Auditor certification (Internal Auditor required; Lead Auditor preferred)
+ NDT Level II certification
+ Training in military and naval specifications

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of West Chester, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
PTO-3 weeks Vacation, 1 week sick
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in West Chester,PA.
