Job Title: Quality Engineer III Job Description Looking for leader driving strategic quality initiatives, advancing our Quality Management System (QMS), and ensuring compliance across the organization. Responsibilities + Serve as assistant to the QA Manager, leading meetings and supporting departmental planning. + Drive QMS harmonization and best practice standardization across sites. + Act as site lead for customer audits and regulatory inspections (ISO, AS9100, FDA if applicable). + Define and track strategic quality goals and KPIs aligned with business objectives. + Lead multi-disciplinary problem-solving for systemic issues such as scrap, warranty returns, and field failures. + Develop and implement supplier quality programs, including audits and performance improvement plans. + Mentor junior engineers and lead technical development sessions. + Support design for manufacturability (DFM), PFMEA, and process validation during product development. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field. + 7+ years of progressive quality experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. + Strong knowledge of ISO, AS9100, and other relevant standards. + Proven success in leading audits, managing customer/supplier relationships, and driving measurable improvements. + ASQ Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) or ability to obtain within one year. + Ability to travel up to 25%. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred. + Experience with APQP, PPAP, Corrective Action, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, Quality Control, Quality Assurance. + Knowledge of CNC Machining and Quality Auditing. Work Environment The work environment involves working within a regulated manufacturing setting, with a focus on plastics. The role requires the ability to travel up to 25% and involves compliance with U.S. person requirements per ITAR/EAR regulations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mundelein, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
