Job Description
We are seeking a driven and technically skilled Quality Engineer. This position leads initiatives that strengthen process capability, resolve complex technical challenges, and embed advanced quality planning across the organization. Responsibilities
Lead and execute quality improvement projects that enhance process capability and overall operational performance using established quality tools and methodologies.Identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues by evaluating root causes, developing corrective actions, and coordinating resources to implement sustainable solutions.Drive effective problem-solving practices across the plant, ensuring teams apply structured methods for root cause analysis and corrective action.Develop, update, and maintain procedures within the Document Control system, ensuring clarity, compliance, and consistent execution across the facility.Analyze recurring issues and trend data to strengthen CAPA effectiveness and address capability, tolerance, and performance.Collaborate with customers, engineering, and quality teams to define critical part characteristics, assess manufacturability, and recommend specification or tolerance adjustments that enable efficient, high-quality production.Contribute to scrap reduction efforts.Assist with ISO9001 internal audits and potentially external audits.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; Engineering preferred.Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience with structured methods such as A3, 8D, RCCA/CAPA, or similar frameworks.Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously while balancing strategic and hands-on responsibilities.Experience with Capability Studies, MSA/Gage R&R, and calibration systems.Minimum of three years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).Hands-on problem solver with a solid technical experience.Experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement.2-7 years of experience within manufacturing.Excel and PowerPoint proficiency are must-haves (presenting to directors, VPs).Root cause analysis, continuous improvement, supplier quality, CAD modeling, ISO 9001.Work Environment
The work environment is a manufacturing plant where you will collaborate with various teams to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of La Vergne, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87/hr.
