Quality Engineer
Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will serve as a key liaison across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program teams to ensure adherence to quality, reliability, and product assurance requirements. This role owns quality assurance activities across assigned programs, supports new business proposals, tracks quality metrics and budgets, and drives corrective actions to mitigate risk and improve performance. The position operates primarily on the manufacturing floor in a regulated environment and requires strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a cross‑functional liaison and quality team leader, making independent decisions to ensure compliance with quality and reliability proceduresServe as the single point of contact for Program Teams on all Product Assurance and Quality requirementsDevelop, implement, and maintain program‑specific quality plans and proceduresTrack program budgets, define work scope, and allocate resources for assigned team membersSupport proposals for new programs, including defining quality requirements, scope, and effortEstablish, collect, and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and potential risksPrepare and present quality status reports to internal management and customersGenerate, manage, and track internal and supplier Corrective Action Requests (CARs), including root cause analysis and CAPA effectivenessPerform detailed contract reviews to ensure quality and regulatory requirements are metMaintain effective monitoring systems using PC‑based tools for planning, tracking, and evaluating performanceCommunicate clearly with personnel at all levels to address technical and business concernsPerform other duties as assignedOccasional overnight travel required; airline travel must be acceptableRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or related discipline preferred)Minimum 2+ years of quality engineering or related experienceStrong knowledge of:CAPA, audits, root cause analysis, and quality control toolsAS9100 and ISO 9001 standardsHands‑on experience with quality engineering, testing, troubleshooting, and inspectionFamiliarity with electronic components and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)Ability to develop corrective action plans and manage quality assurance systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred / Additional QualificationsExperience in manufacturing or aerospace/defense environmentsBackground working in regulated environments requiring export controlsAbility to work independently while supporting cross‑functional teamsWork EnvironmentPrimarily based on the manufacturing floor with benches and designated work areasHands‑on troubleshooting, repair, component replacement, and retesting activitiesWork may include environmental or test chambers depending on program needsTraining provided; position works closely with a lead and supervisor9/80 work schedule (alternating Fridays off)Bi‑weekly pay cycleJob Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Farmingdale, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
