Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer will serve as a key liaison across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program teams to ensure adherence to quality, reliability, and product assurance requirements. This role owns quality assurance activities across assigned programs, supports new business proposals, tracks quality metrics and budgets, and drives corrective actions to mitigate risk and improve performance. The position operates primarily on the manufacturing floor in a regulated environment and requires strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
+ Act as a cross‑functional liaison and quality team leader, making independent decisions to ensure compliance with quality and reliability procedures
+ Serve as the single point of contact for Program Teams on all Product Assurance and Quality requirements
+ Develop, implement, and maintain program‑specific quality plans and procedures
+ Track program budgets, define work scope, and allocate resources for assigned team members
+ Support proposals for new programs, including defining quality requirements, scope, and effort
+ Establish, collect, and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and potential risks
+ Prepare and present quality status reports to internal management and customers
+ Generate, manage, and track internal and supplier Corrective Action Requests (CARs), including root cause analysis and CAPA effectiveness
+ Perform detailed contract reviews to ensure quality and regulatory requirements are met
+ Maintain effective monitoring systems using PC‑based tools for planning, tracking, and evaluating performance
+ Communicate clearly with personnel at all levels to address technical and business concerns
+ Perform other duties as assigned
+ Occasional overnight travel required; airline travel must be acceptable
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or related discipline preferred)
+ Minimum 2+ years of quality engineering or related experience
+ Strong knowledge of:
+ CAPA, audits, root cause analysis, and quality control tools
+ AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards
+ Hands‑on experience with quality engineering, testing, troubleshooting, and inspection
+ Familiarity with electronic components and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
+ Ability to develop corrective action plans and manage quality assurance systems
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
+ Experience in manufacturing or aerospace/defense environments
+ Background working in regulated environments requiring export controls
+ Ability to work independently while supporting cross‑functional teams
Work Environment
+ Primarily based on the manufacturing floor with benches and designated work areas
+ Hands‑on troubleshooting, repair, component replacement, and retesting activities
+ Work may include environmental or test chambers depending on program needs
+ Training provided; position works closely with a lead and supervisor
+ 9/80 work schedule (alternating Fridays off)
+ Bi‑weekly pay cycle

This is a Permanent position based out of Farmingdale, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
