Overview
Responsibilities
Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and random inspections to ensure maintenance work meets aviation standards, technical publications, and safety requirements.Review maintenance performed across all disciplines—including Powertrain, Engines, Avionics, Electrical, Sheet Metal, Welding, Armament, Corrosion Control, Tool Control, and more—to confirm accuracy and compliance.Conduct 100% inspections, monthly inspections, and observation-based quality checks.Verify aircraft logbooks, records, and readiness data for accuracy and completeness.Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and random inspections to ensure maintenance work meets aviation standards, technical publications, and safety requirements.Identify maintenance discrepancies and issue corrective actions.Track and validate corrective actions to ensure timely resolution.Classify findings by severity (major, minor, or observation) and support root-cause analysis when needed.Review readiness and maintenance program records (Tool Control, Corrosion, TMDE, Oil Analysis, etc.) to ensure all requirements are met.Prepare and submit inspection reports, discrepancy reports, and corrective action documentation.Monitor maintenance records, component tracking, and supply documentation to ensure accuracy and proper routing.Verify that on-the-job training (OJT) for maintainers is properly executed and documented. Collaborate with Production Control, Technical Supply, and Maintenance leadership to resolve quality issues.Coordinate with the Government Flight Representative on maintenance test flight documentation requirements.Provide guidance to maintenance teams to promote continuous improvement and reduce rework.Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.Associate degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aerospace Technology, or related fieldBachelor’s degree accepted as equivalentMilitary aviation technical school may satisfy degree requirements (if contractually allowed)Certification:FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) CertificateExperience:5+ years of helicopter/rotary-wing maintenance experience2+ years in a Quality Control, Technical Inspector, or similar inspection roleStrong ability to interpret technical manuals and maintenance documentationAbility to produce inspection reports and corrective action documents independentlyMust meet physical, deployment, and travel requirements for work in KSAFAAAirframe & Powerplant (A&P) CertificateDesired Experience:Experience on AH-64, UH-60, MD-530F, or AH-6i aircraftExperience supporting maintenance test flight documentation requirementsExperience with aircraft readiness reportingWhat Success Looks Like: Aircraft consistently meet mission-capable readiness targetsCorrective actions are completed on time and do not reoccurNo repeated major quality findingsLocal maintainers show improved performance and reduced rework over timeAt V2X, we are deeply committed to both equal employment opportunity, including protection for Veterans and individuals with disabilities, and fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. The Quality Control Specialist ensures that all aircraft maintenance activities are performed safely, correctly, and in accordance with aviation standards. Your inspections directly influence aircraft readiness, safety, and mission capability for the customer.
