Quality Control Lab Technician
Job Title: Quality Control Lab TechnicianJob Description

Join a dynamic team where you will work closely with the production team to ensure the highest quality standards. You will utilize Sage for LIMS, operate a flashpoint machine for Safety Data Sheets, and use two instruments to measure specific gravity and refraction indexes. Proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft suite is essential. You'll package samples and use your skills in smelling, tasting, and differentiating products to determine key measured areas. Emphasizing quality over speed is crucial in this role.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with the production team to uphold quality standards.Utilize Sage for LIMS effectively.Operate a flashpoint machine for Safety Data Sheets.Measure specific gravity and refraction indexes using designated instruments.Demonstrate proficiency in Excel and Microsoft suite for data management.Package samples accurately and efficiently.Employ sensory skills in smelling and tasting to differentiate and assess products.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years of industry experience in Quality Control Testing.Experience within the Food, Flavor, or Consumer Product industry is preferred.Proficiency in sensory evaluation, including taste and smell, as part of the quality control process.Additional Skills & QualificationsA Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Food Science is preferred.Certifications from Fortis Institute are acceptable.Opportunity to obtain Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification, enhancing professional credibility and marketability.Work Environment

The work environment consists of a small QC Lab team of three individuals, fostering a laid-back atmosphere with an emphasis on quality and cleanliness. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This role offers the potential for quick advancement within a small company setting, providing invaluable experience in quality control across various departments such as R&D, production, and regulatory teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwood, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
