Job Description
The Quality Control Technician performs and interprets analyses of all plant raw materials and finished products, maintaining laboratory records and generating weekly reports for management. This position requires working a shift schedule and involves physical movement of packaged products. Under general supervision and following prescribed guidelines, the QC Technician ensures quality and compliance across the production process.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze all incoming raw materials to ensure conformance to specifications.
+ Approve or reject raw materials based on analytical data.
+ Analyze all finished products to ensure conformance to specifications.
+ Approve or reject products based on analytical data.
+ Maintain all applicable laboratory records regarding batch approval or rejection, and communicate this data to management personnel.
+ Inspect shipments of all products to ensure compliance with specifications.
+ Perform instrumental analysis using atomic absorption, gas-liquid chromatography, and other techniques.
+ Communicate effectively with other department personnel and management.
+ Ensure information on shop orders, labels, and cartons is correct.
+ Ensure the cleanliness of equipment before production of certain products.
+ Perform audits and inspections of plants, products, or paperwork such as work instructions.
+ Conduct environmental samples as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Quality assurance and quality control expertise.
+ Strong background in chemistry.
+ Experience in a related industry laboratory environment.
+ Proficiency in atomic absorption, gas-liquid chromatography, HPLC, or near-infrared spectrophotometry.
+ Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
+ Chemistry degree or equivalent experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grandview, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
