Quality Control Engineer II
Job Title: Quality Control Engineer IIJob Description As a Quality Control Engineer II, you will be responsible for investigating, analyzing, and resolving production and new model development quality problems. This involves conducting product audits, analyzing defect trends, and leading cross-functional continuous improvement activities. Your role is crucial in ensuring consistent quality production and maintaining customer quality standards. Responsibilities + Investigate internal quality issues related to production quality, processes, and equipment using quality information gathering and statistical techniques. + Act as a communication liaison between internal and external groups regarding quality issues, maintaining production values and adhering to customer quality standards. + Establish, maintain, and track quality standards to ensure consistency in production. + Prepare PQCTs using FMEA and GPAC-V to address potential failure modes. + Participate in process audits to address issues such as production mold modifications and deviations from quality standards. + Document and communicate customer and internal product concerns, tracking problem activities and performance through monthly reports. + Analyze performance reports and process data to identify areas of improvement and develop necessary improvement plans. + Coordinate with departments to confirm packaging trials meet quality standards. + Train and mentor new engineers in a hands-on environment. + Address other issues and assume additional responsibilities as needed. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. + 3-6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. + Working knowledge of quality tools including FMEA, PQCT, capability studies, and GD&T. + Experience with plastic injection molding processes and process improvements. + Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9000 and AIAG standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in quality functions within the automotive supplier industry, preferably with Japanese automakers. + Experience in a JIT manufacturing environment. Work Environment This role requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. You will work in a general office environment for approximately 4 hours per day and in a manufacturing environment for another 4 hours per day. Occasional overnight travel may be required for essential functions or training. Additionally, overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) may be necessary to meet customer deadlines and requirements.
