Quality & Benchmarking Manager, NASC RME
Amazon
Description
Amazon is seeking a dynamic, organized, and self-directed Quality & Benchmarking Manager to develop, refine, and scale data-driven training curriculum and mechanisms across Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME). This role will focus on improving maintenance execution, reducing mean repair times, and elevating technician capability through standardized training, benchmarking, and data-driven quality programs.
The Quality & Benchmarking Manager will lead the development of RME quality standards and training mechanisms that enable site leaders to prioritize work based on asset risk, improve reliability year over year, and raise the bar on maintenance procedure documentation across Amazon’s operations network. This role partners closely with the RME Director, Regional Management Team, Reliability Engineers, and site teams and operates as an in-person position, traveling up to 70% of the time.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop and implement RME training mechanisms and curriculum that reduce failures, improve equipment reliability, and close technician skill gaps.
• Partner with field teams to design tools, processes, automation, and training content supporting new audit and training mechanisms.
• Define and standardize RME maintenance procedure quality expectations, including procedure structure, level of detail, timing, and execution standards.
• Perform regular field maintenance audits and evaluate execution against standard work and training expectations across Amazon and third-party maintenance providers.
• Develop and recommend strategic maintenance quality objectives in collaboration with internal teams and third-party service providers.
• Define and enforce company-wide standards for scoping, designing, and launching new quality and training initiatives.
• Design and implement scalable quality and training program management methodologies that improve effectiveness, accelerate deployment, and maximize constrained resources.
• Benchmark internal and external RME performance to identify best-in-class capabilities and translate findings into training improvements.
• Influence cross-functional roadmaps, align stakeholders on priorities, and deliver quality and training programs successfully at scale.
• Contribute as a senior quality leader defining, auditing, and continuously improving the quality of RME maintenance procedures and execution.
• Help define the 3–5 year RME Quality and Training vision, including long-term roadmaps and scalable, innovative programs.
• Raise the bar for maintenance procedure quality through structured training, audits, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
