Quality Technician

Job Description

The Quality Technician performs periodic line audits on production as directed by the QA checklist to ensure the right product is shipped to customers. Audits are conducted per the SQF program and as directed by the quality supervisor, including GMP audits and FIFO audits. The role involves ensuring that material inspections on incoming raw materials meet expectations, performing physical and light chemical analysis of ingredients and finished products accurately and promptly, and executing sanitation duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Conduct periodic line audits on production according to the QA checklist.Perform audits as per SQF program, including GMP and FIFO audits.Ensure material inspections on incoming raw materials meet expectations.Execute physical analysis of ingredients and finished products in a timely and accurate manner.Perform light chemical analysis.Communicate data to quality, operations, and manufacturing departments promptly.Handle computer data entry and maintain spreadsheets.Collaborate with other departments.

Essential Skills

Attention to detail to notice mistakes or anomalies on codes.Data entry skills for Excel spreadsheets, verbal, and written reporting.Background in food quality, auditing, or machine operation with some QC experience.Understanding of FDA-GMPs and SQF standards.High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Food science, quality control, food safety, production management, and supervision knowledge.Laboratory and chemistry experience.Two years in a Quality capacity preferred but not required.Reliable transportation.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
