Job Title: Quality Assurance TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to perform inspections of finished products and ensure adherence to quality standards. The role involves completing necessary paperwork, conducting processing verification checks, and evaluating finished goods and work in progress to enhance day-to-day operations, maximizing quality and efficiency. Responsibilities + Conduct routine floor audits in production and packaging areas to confirm correct product composition, specification, storage, packaging, labeling, and coding. + Assist in completing compliance checks for production runs at scheduled frequencies using paper or electronic records. + Monitor facility activities with daily inspections, including pre-operational swabbing and quality program records. + Report quality-related failures or potential food safety issues to the quality manager and department managers, ensuring follow-up is documented and communicated. + Assist the QA Assistant Manager with execution of sales and customer sample request programs. + Initiate 'hold product' procedures for products manufactured out of specification, communicating with affected departments regarding disposition and status. + Initiate 'defective material reports' for unusable products supplied by vendors. + Maintain and inspect retain samples for product quality issues. + Execute environmental monitoring, product testing, chemical testing, and glass inspections for the facility. + Complete data entry for laboratory and production results. Essential Skills + Quality assurance expertise. + Knowledge of GMP, audit procedures, food manufacturing, and food safety. + Experience with quality checks, food production, inspection, and food science. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred. + Food Manufacturing QA experience is a significant advantage. + Fluency in Spanish is beneficial. + Experience with Deacom, RedZone, or other ERP systems. + Basic understanding of quality assurance principles and practices. + Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. + Good communication skills, both written and verbal. + Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies. Work Environment The role is situated in a manufacturing floor environment, requiring frequent movement between mixing/blending rooms and the production floor. The majority of the shift will be spent on one's feet, with moderate noise levels. The role requires lifting over 20 lbs. The shift operates Monday to Friday, 2 PM - 10:30 PM, with potential overtime including rotating weekends. The team is bilingual, with a mix of Spanish and English speakers, making bilingualism a plus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkins, MN.
