Quality Assurance Technician

Responsibilities
+ Conduct comprehensive inspections, including incoming, in-process, final inspections, and FAIs, to ensure compliance with standards.
+ Manage and improve inspection documentation, scrap and rework tracking, and quality reporting.
+ Develop and oversee quality testing procedures, audit parameters, and inspection tools to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
+ Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) investigations and work cross-functionally to implement long-term solutions.
+ Coordinate and manage RMAs to ensure timely resolution and strong customer support.
+ Contribute to quality system enhancements, process standardization, and train junior inspection staff.
+ Build and manage systems for tracking internal defects, providing actionable reporting to supervisors.
+ Conduct random audits across manufacturing processes to identify and mitigate quality risks.
+ Audit staged products before packaging to verify appearance, functionality, and compliance.
+ Perform root cause analysis on nonconforming products and support CAPA activities.
+ Tag, segregate, and document nonconforming materials and ensure timely communication for disposition.
+ Stop processes producing nonconforming product and escalate issues to prevent further defects.
+ Collaborate with operations teams to drive process improvements that influence quality positively.
+ Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and quality activities for compliance.
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, local regulations, and company safety guidelines.
+ Perform additional tasks as assigned to support business needs.
Essential Skills
+ 3–5 years of experience in a quality-focused role within a manufacturing environment.
+ Experience in quality control and inspection processes in a production setting.
+ Experience in developing quality audits, inspections, and control methods.
+ Strong understanding of BOM levels and structures.
+ Ability to read and interpret mechanical part drawings.
+ Experience with root cause analysis and CAPA methodologies.
+ Knowledge of inspection techniques and measurement tools.
+ Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
