Quality Assurance Tech I, Ring, Ring
Description Amazon's Ring is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Technician (QAT) to join our team of hands-on, passionate professionals developing innovative products. In this role, QATs will be responsible for qualifying products and features developed by cross-functional teams. QATs at Amazon are excellent individual contributors who can execute test cases from start to completion with minimal supervision. They understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and reproduce product issues to assist developers and other testers. QATs are skilled at identifying, tracking, and accurately reporting defects, and they create thorough, reproducible defect reports to verify that bugs are properly resolved. Key job responsibilities • Execute assigned test cases accurately and efficiently • Identify critical bugs • Create detailed, reproducible defect reports including: steps to reproduce, system logs, clear comparison of actual vs. expected results • Develop thorough understanding of product features and functional requirements to effectively execute assigned tests • Prioritize work assignments with guidance from management • Maintain clear communication with team members about potential issues and escalate concerns appropriately • Manage assigned tasks independently and meet deadlines • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members and cross-functional groups A day in the life Your day to day activities will be dynamic and fast paced. You will work with a team of talented quality assurance engineers who are responsible for delivering high quality products for Ring Alarm. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree with concentrations in computer science or equivalent. - 1 to 3 years quality assurance testing experience in a technology industry or equivalent - Experience with Android and iOS application testing or development. - Experience in execution of the test cases, evaluation/triaging of test results, determination of root cause - Good communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with IDEs - Android studio, Xcode, intelli J. - Knowledge of wireless connectivity technologies - WIFI, Bluetooth, ZWave, Zigbee. - Experience with QA report management tools - Jira, Confluence, Testrail. - Experience with production monitoring and deployment tools – Splunk, Kibana, Jenkins. - Basic knowledge in one or more scripting languages (e.g., shell, bash, Perl, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, etc.). - Able to automate UI and API test cases using established tools and make configuration changes. - Knowledge of IOT device development or testing, specifically Home Security Systems. - Strong organizational skills to plan and delivery quality products on time.
