Quality Assurance Supervisor
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of quality and sanitation during the production shift. This Supervisor will work closely with and communicate with operations, ensuring all finished products meet specifications and customer expectations. The position also includes the responsibility for the direct supervision of all plant level FS&Q and Sanitation team members.

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $73,000 - $124,000 annually with additional bonus potential.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Facilitate the development, implementation, review, verification, validation, and management of the facilities FS&Q System. Assesses programs to QA and Sanitation resources/department including, not limited to: SSOPs, Master Sanitation Schedule, Sanitation Effectiveness, Sanitation Verification activities and Pest Control.Serves as the sites back-up to the Quality Manager Preventative Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) and GFSI Practitioner.Operates as the facility’s FS&Q back-up on Regulatory and certification inspections, Customer audits and visits, and Third-Party audits.Facilitate and support continuous improvement initiatives using TMOS in collaboration with Operations, Corporate FS&Q and other support functions.Provide input for consumer complaints, trending, and implementation of corrective actions on a timely basis, to all investigation requests.Provides support, direction and guidance to facility personnel during an FS&Q event, assuring product is appropriately protected and root cause, corrective and preventative actions are identified and implemented.Support R&D plant testing and/or projects that qualify new ingredients, suppliers, formulas or processes.Facilitate monthly reporting on FS&Q KPIs and metric, while driving continuous improvement.Facilitate the implementation and utilization of an SPC system, such as Infinity QS, which allows for real time process control and data driven decision making by operators.Facilitate Quality Module and Inspection Characteristics in SAP system, assuring new workflows are executed timely and accurately.Works with facility leadership to execute the plants required FS&Q employee training program.Supervise FSQ and Sanitation processes in a sound, cost effective manner to help plant meet and exceed operational goals and objectives for quality, BRC, safety, and Food Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations. Maintain accurate and timely sanitation records in compliance to all regulatory and BRC audits. Develop and maintain formal Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for cleaning of all equipment and environmental surfaces and Quality Assurance requirements. Provide oversight to track and monitor Quality lab and sanitation chemical inventory and usage. Ensure employees are trained and effective. Supervise/monitor work assignments for the Sanitation Team. Assign/schedule workforce to support production schedules. Guide/coach/develop subordinates in a worker-friendly team environment that rewards performance with respect and trust. Provide oversight to track and ensure appropriate levels of chemicals are available. Ensure a quality and safe work environment for all employees.  Ensure all employees follow strict Safety and GMP rules and procedures. Provide oversight to schedule and meet with external vendors as needed/maintain high knowledge of sanitation processes. Oversee and maintain chemical and labor budgets for FSQ and Sanitation department.Provide oversight to set up, document, and maintain master sanitation schedule, perform, read results and document swab tests of plant equipment, perform time work for department hours worked. Food Safety: Must comply with all GMPs, SQF requirements, and other Food Safety related items as deemed necessary by the company. Ensure that all direct reports comply with all Company Food Safety Policies and federal regulations. Must be able to maintain compliance with all Plant Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations in accordance with Company Best Practices, Policies, and required government regulations. Ensure that all direct reports also comply with all Safety requirements in accordance with Company Policies and Government regulations. Provides input in department and program development; fosters Continuous Improvement and team environment; facility advocate for Food Safety and Quality; monitor and implement policies, programs, rules and regulations for compliance. Trouble shoots and problem solves as needed. Assesses QA programs’ efficacy; coordinates and administers QA and sanitation programs and workflow. Investigates consumer/customer complaints and develops response and corrective actions Supervise hourly Associates and Team Leaders/Coordinators within the FSQ (Quality) and Sanitation departments to ensure that an efficient and effective workflow is created on a day-to-day basis. Oversees QA lead/lab tech/sanitation daily functions as well as developing the work schedule for all department employees. The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list of all tasks. Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field required. Proficient and effective use of communication and Microsoft Office. Manufacturing and Food Industry Experience preferred.  Food Processing related certification is a plus.  Must be highly organized and work well under pressure.  Must be able to work independently, as well as under supervision. Must be able to work effectively with others, have good interpersonal and leadership skills. Must be willing to accept responsibility and to show good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness. Is cross functional in all areas of department, trouble shoot and corrects issues.
