Quality Assurance Manager - III, SSG
Description As a Software QA Manager III (QAM) within the SSG(Silicon and Systems) team, you will work closely with the Software Development Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Product Development Engineering , User Experience Design, and Factory Support groups to understand the silicon and product vision, requirements and customer usage models and develop appropriate test strategies. You will be setting the QA team’s technical vision and roadmap, developing and tracking project schedules. The successful Quality Assurance Manager has strong customer focus, insist on highest standard and is obsessed with continuous quality improvement; they are experienced and highly committed to creating world class automation for feature testing and regression; they are able to develop and drive a high-level strategy, as well as to take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy. They are dedicated to building a strong and high performing team. Your impact will be amplified through close collaboration with core team members, Principal engineers (PEs)Technical Program Managers (TPMs), and Software Development Managers (SDM). You will drive mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions and high-quality solutions, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, juggle multiple tasks at once, and maintain professionalism under pressure; all while achieving high quality results. You should have deep knowledge of software engineering practices, understand how software and hardware systems interact, and can drive design and implementation of test strategies in highly complex and ambiguous systems. Familiarity with embedded systems is desired. Key job responsibilities · Working with silicon, product, hardware, TPM, and development teams to understand silicon and product vision and requirements · Understanding how all elements of the software ecosystem work together and developing QA approaches that fit the overall project strategy · Responsible for development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses · Overseeing the development and execution of test plans, monitoring and reporting on test execution and quality metrics · Working with a team of quality engineering professionals to ensure the highest quality product delivery · The successful candidate is an experienced but hands-on manager who can build an organization and ensure it performs . Design and develop comprehensive test automation strategies and improve QA efficiency . Lead the Bug triage, Go/No Go meetings . Define key metrics for measuring and reporting on the quality of software products and test effectiveness. . Supervise and Coach QA engineers, providing guidance, technical expertise, and ensuring adherence to best practices . We collaborate closely with software development teams to achieve a high quality releases that meet tight timelines without introducing new regressions or lowering product quality. About the team The Amazon Silicon and Systems team is part of the Amazon Devices organization. We design and engineer silicon for high-profile consumer electronics devices, including the best-selling Echo and Alexa devices. What will you help us create next? Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of quality assurance teams management experience - Experience managing manual testers - Experience managing automation testers - Experience testing web technologies and back-end services - Experience identifying and reviewing test plans, test cases and testing results with a strong QA background - 10+years of overall QA experience with 3+years of experience in managing QA teams.
