We have also produced exciting new devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. As a QA Engineer in this team, you will be working with a unique and gifted team building exciting products for consumers and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, including Hardware Technologies.
Key job responsibilities
As a QAE on the team, you will champion the quality of our features in our development pipeline using both automated and manual tests, reporting and verifying defects, and signing-off on features and release candidates. You will own authoring and the execution of test plans and test cases. You will have a significant impact in the quality and delivery speed of our software, our business, and most importantly our customers. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA in order to ensure the features we deliver to our customers have a high level of quality. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency. The candidate will have good hands-on experience in test automation and testing, with good knowledge of the core software testing techniques.
A day in the life
* Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for Echo devices and related software.
* Perform thorough functional, performance, and reliability testing of products
* Conduct acoustic measurements and audio quality evaluations using specialized equipment
* Document and track software bugs and hardware issues using bug tracking systems
* Analyze test results, debug failures and provide detailed reports on product quality metrics
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, acoustic engineers) to resolve quality issues
* Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on product specifications
* Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for audio testing
* Mentor junior QA team members

Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
