Quality Assurance Engineer

Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures all work meets customer, nuclear, DoE, DoD, and ISO/AS standards. This role is hands-on, documentation-heavy, and audit-focused, with regular interaction across production, inspection, and customers.

Reviews customer purchase orders, drawings, travelers, procedures, and quality plans before work startsVerifies quality requirements are followed throughout machining, welding, NDT, and inspectionPerforms in-process inspections, witness points, and hold pointsSupports receiving inspection and controlled QA inventoryReviews nonconformances and verifies proper disposition and closurePrepares and reviews final data packages before shipmentSupports internal and external audits, including nuclear auditsInterfaces with customers and Authorized Nuclear InspectorsEnsures quality documents and revisions are currentAssists with calibration records and subcontracted calibration servicesSupports other quality or operational needs as requiredExperience with NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21, ANSI N45.2 ASME BPVC Section III and VIII experience AWS CWI certification ASNT Level II VT and PTInspection experience in machining, welding, NDT, or fabricationAerospace quality experience under AS9100Machinist or fabricator experience previouslyNuclear commercial grade dedication experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience

2+ years in a Quality Assurance or Quality Systems role

2+ years interpreting welding symbols, codes, and standards

Experience working within regulated quality systems

Strong documentation, communication, and attention to detail

Knowledge of nuclear or highly regulated QA environments

Ability to work on the floor and perform physical inspection tasks

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
