Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist
Job Description

This position involves inspecting finished products to ensure compliance with critical physical and chemical parameters and maintaining orderly records of these inspections. You will perform daily calibration of lab instruments and manage records of external services. Additionally, you will conduct general inspections to detect unusual conditions that might cause losses, collaborating with other departments to identify and resolve production-related issues. The role includes coordinating rework and release of held goods with production and inventory control.

ResponsibilitiesInspect finished products at 24-hour checks to ensure all critical parameters are met.Perform daily calibration of lab instrumentation and maintain records of outside services.Identify and resolve unusual conditions that could cause losses.Maintain firm control over held goods and investigate errors or defects.Coordinate rework and release of held goods with production and inventory control.Essential SkillsExperience in quality assurance and production environments.Ability to conduct quality inspections and general labor tasks.Knowledge of GMP practices and quality control procedures.Proficiency in inspection checklist processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to lift 15-20 pounds.Capability to work on feet for 10-12 hour shifts.Experience working on high-speed production lines.Capacity to maintain cleanliness of work area.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a production setting that is cold in winter and warm in summer, adjacent to machines that can emit heat. The environment involves food manufacturing with strong smells such as garlic and salsa. Shifts are 10-12 hours long, requiring standing for extended periods. Protective gear including gloves, beard nets, hair nets, ear plugs, and safety glasses is provided, but steel-toed boots must be supplied by employees. Temporary workers wear royal blue shirts provided by Aerotek. Work alongside 10-20 people per line, with up to 160-200 people in the warehouse during peak season. Many coworkers speak Spanish or Haitian Creole. Facilities include lockers with locks and a break room with microwaves and vending machines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hurlock, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.25 - $15.25/hr.
