Job Description
The Quality Assurance role is primarily responsible for monitoring product quality during the manufacturing process through on-line observation and documentation. This position requires effective communication with the Production team regarding quality and GMP issues, followed by written recommendations. The role involves random checks on finished products, performing analytical tests, and monitoring the quality of incoming raw materials.
ResponsibilitiesApprove packaging pre-approval.Complete Quality and CCP checks as specified by the quality program requirements.Perform GMP checks, report deviations, and provide written documentation on issues.Conduct moisture, Aw, and other required analytical tests on finished products.Identify and report areas of concern related to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).Assist in answering product quality questions during the production process.Ensure new or revised Standard Operating Processes (S.O.P.s) are implemented in production.Monitor new product runs in the plant as necessary.Oversee testing of raw ingredients introduced in the plant or in trial stages.Collaborate with leadership to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) are followed.Assist in training or act as a Buddy for backup employees or other QA Technicians.Maintain effective communication and working relationships with Quality, Food Safety, Maintenance, Sanitation, Warehouse, HR, and all other support and leadership roles.Observe all laws, regulations, policies, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.Work between three locations, all within 10 miles of each other.Perform other duties as assigned or required.Essential Skills6 months to 2 years of previous inspection experience, preferably in food or manufacturing inspection.Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Proficiency in English.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in QA, testing, weights, and specs, particularly in the food industry.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work is conducted in a large industrial bakery, which can be very warm, especially during summer days. The production floor primarily operates in Spanish. Employees must be able to handle potential allergens like peanuts, almonds, walnuts, and cinnamon. The role requires the physical ability to lift over 50 pounds, work in tight or confined spaces, and endure varied climates (hot and cold). Employees must be able to stand and perform tasks on the floor for the duration of the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Escondido, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
