QC Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated QC Lab Technician to join a large and stable dairy company known for producing a variety of products including white milk, chocolate milk, ice cream, eggnog, and sour cream. The role involves supporting production by conducting tests on incoming materials, processing, and outgoing products, as well as performing environmental testing. The position operates Monday through Friday from 12pm to 8pm, with initial flexibility required for shift assignments during the first month and a half.

PAY - $21/hour

Responsibilities

Perform bacterial plating and microbiology tests.Conduct pH testing and use infrared reader for butter fat and total solids analysis.Measure titratable acidity and calibrate machines.Execute weight checks to ensure product consistency.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in wet chemistry and biology.Experience with quality control in a lab environment.Familiarity with GMP, aseptic techniques, plating, and microbiology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

A bachelor's or associate degree with lab experience in Biology or a related field is preferred.A high school diploma will be considered with relevant industry lab experience.Desirable skills include aseptic techniques and restaurant industry experience.Ability to taste products, therefore candidates must not be lactose intolerant.

Work Environment

The role is based in a collaborative and well-coordinated team setting, offering flexibility when needed to ensure coverage. The company provides ample opportunities for learning in microbiology, basic chemistry, and machine calibration. This position involves frequent interaction with plant employees, requiring strong interpersonal skills. The work is conducted in a lab environment with a focus on precision and adherence to quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of O'Fallon, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
