**QC Lab Technician** 21/HR
QC Lab Technician Job Description We are seeking a QC Lab Technician to join our team in a dairy company that produces a variety of products including white milk, chocolate milk, ice cream, eggnog, and sour cream. The quality technician will support production by conducting tests on all incoming materials, processes, outgoing products, and perform environmental testing. The position is scheduled for Monday through Friday, from noon to 8 pm. Responsibilities + Perform bacterial plating and microbiology tests. + Conduct pH testing and use an infrared reader for butter fat and total solids analysis. + Carry out titratable acidity measurements. + Calibrate machines and perform weight checks. + Support various shifts for the first month and a half, after which transition to the second shift. Essential Skills + Proficiency in wet chemistry and biology. + Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and aseptic techniques. + Experience with plating and working in a lab environment. + Ability to learn quickly, multitask, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's or Associate's degree with labs in Biology or related field is preferred. + High school diploma with industry experience in a lab will be considered. + Aseptic technique experience is desired. + Experience in the restaurant industry is a plus. + Willingness to taste products; cannot be lactose intolerant. Work Environment The work environment is within a large and stable company where employees have the opportunity to engage with plant employees using their interpersonal skills. The team is collaborative, providing flexibility and support to ensure all tasks are covered. This role offers a learning experience in microbiology, basic chemistry, and machine calibration. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of O'Fallon, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
