Job Title: QA Supervisor
Job Description
The QA Supervisor will report to the Food Safety and Quality Manager and will directly oversee employees in the QA Lab. This role is essential in supervising and implementing quality programs while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
PAY - $70k - $90k
Responsibilities
Interview, hire, and train employees, while planning, assigning, and directing work.Appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees as necessary.Provide coverage and support in the absence of the Food Safety and Quality Manager.Implement and continuously improve quality programs at the Elk Grove Village facility.Identify and resolve problems, reporting food safety and quality issues to management.Implement components of the quality assurance program, including data analysis, systems evaluation, and product assessment.Direct hardware inspections and systems audits to ensure adherence to management system procedures.Conduct raw material, in-process, and finished goods quality inspections.Communicate effectively in Spanish, both written and orally.Guide personnel in special test procedures to analyze product materials.Compile and analyze test information to assess process or equipment efficiency and diagnose malfunctions.Investigate product complaints and respond to vendors or customers as needed.Establish or adjust work procedures to meet testing schedules.Train lab staff on safety topics, quality procedures, and business updates.Participate in and support corporate and plant initiatives, including GMP, HACCP, SQF, and other quality systems.Engage in customer, regulatory, and third-party audits as required.Essential Skills
Experience in food science, chemistry, biology, microbiology, sensory, food packaging systems, and/or food engineering.3-7 years of practical experience in Food Safety, Quality Management, Production, or Project Management in the food industry.Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience with food quality systems such as SQF, HACCP, and GMPs.HACCP certification.Ability to drive continuous improvement and affect change through indirect leadership.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in quality assurance specific to food manufacturing, particularly with chocolate products.Strong interpersonal, communication, coaching, and conflict management skills.Ability to write and implement policies and procedures.Willingness to travel infrequently.Work Environment
