Job Title: QA Business Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team, focusing on eliciting, analyzing, and documenting various requirements that capture functional, non-functional, and compliance-related needs. This role requires partnering with Product Owners, Engineering, and QA to ensure requirements are technically sound, testable, and interconnected across systems.

Responsibilities

Elicit, analyze, and document Business, User, and Product Requirements.Partner with Product Owners, Engineering, and QA to ensure requirements are technically sound.Analyze how requirements impact one another and identify dependencies or constraints within integrated components.Ensure compliance-driven and policy-related requirements are properly reflected and traceable throughout the system lifecycle.Support QA by linking requirements to test cases and validation criteria for complete coverage and traceability.Maintain organized, high-quality documentation across Jira, Confluence, and related collaboration tools.Facilitate requirement reviews to confirm accuracy, resolve ambiguities, and promote shared understanding across delivery teams.

Essential Skills

Requirements gatheringKnowledge of DoD, security, FedRAMP, NIST, RMFBachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst supporting software or platform developmentStrong understanding of how business, user, and product requirements interrelate within complex system environmentsTechnical fluency sufficient to interpret data flows, system integrations, and functional dependenciesExperience supporting QA workflows and maintaining requirements-to-test-case traceabilityExceptional analytical and communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for requirements management and documentationExperience supporting government programs or compliance-driven software deliveryKnowledge of NIST, FedRAMP, or DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF)Familiarity with workflow mapping, use case development, and system integration analysis

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work environment with core collaboration hours aligned to U.S. Eastern Time. Occasional travel may be required for on-site planning or reviews. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents eligible for government clearance. The role is based in the Raleigh or Washington, DC metro area, offering flexibility between remote and office work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Washington D.C., DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68.50 - $68.50/hr.
