Job Description :
The Senior Test Automation Lead will define and drive the automation testing strategy, ensuring robust frameworks and best practices across multiple teams. This role involves designing and developing scalable automation solutions for UI and API testing using Java (and optionally TypeScript), promoting TDD and shift-left principles, and integrating tests within CI/CD pipelines. The lead will collaborate with architects, developers, and stakeholders to optimize coverage, maintain cloud-based test environments, and ensure high-quality delivery through technical leadership, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and backend applications
• Create scalable and reusable automation frameworks using industry-standard tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define test strategies
• Execute automated test suites as part of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
• Identify defects, analyse root causes, and track issues through to resolution
• Develop and maintain test data, test environments, and supporting documentation
• Perform code reviews on automation scripts and contribute to test automation best practices
• Monitor and report on test results, quality metrics, and overall system stability
• Support manual testing where required, particularly in exploratory or edge-case scenarios.
Must Have Skills:
• Strong knowledge of development practices using Java
• Promoting engineering best practices with strong collaboration principles
• Enthusiastic to support Test Driven Development within cross-functional teams
• Passionate about testing and shifting left and good working knowledge of CI/CD deliveries
• Proven experience in both UI and API automation
• Analytical approach to developing with maintainable coding approaches
• Comfortable delivering within a Cloud platform using cloud products
• Experience of using Typescript (optional)
• Experience of using GraphQL (optional)
Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
