**Job Title:** Senior Python Developer – Risk & Reporting Systems
**Location:** Jersey City, NJ (Onsite/Hybrid as required)

**Overview:**
Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a seasoned **Senior Python Developer** to join their Risk Technology team. This role involves working closely with software developers, risk managers, business analysts, and middle office users to enhance and support a robust risk calculation and reporting framework.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Collaborate within an Agile team to implement and enhance risk calculation and reporting systems.
+ Interface with Risk Managers, Business Analysts, and Middle Office users to gather and analyze requirements.
+ Coordinate full SDLC activities including development, testing, release, and post-release support.
+ Drive enhancements in risk methodology and infrastructure.
+ Develop scalable frameworks for calculating risk metrics using Python and strategic firm-wide platforms.
+ Ensure high performance and concurrency in distributed systems.
**Required Skills & Experience:**
+ 5+ years of IT experience in enterprise-level application development within the financial domain.
+ Strong proficiency in **Python** and **Object-Oriented Analysis and Design** .
+ Experience with **risk calculations** , **market risk models** , and **financial product pricing** .
+ Hands-on experience with:
+ Key/Value Object Stores
+ SQL Querying (Sybase preferred)
+ Cloudera
+ Shell Scripting
+ Linux environments
+ Proven ability to work in distributed systems and highly concurrent environments. **Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Deep understanding of financial instruments and derivatives.
