Thousands of engineers globally are shaping this platform, and our Prague tech hub is a key part of that effort. But we don’t just keep the engine running—we push the tech boundaries of what’s possible, alongside teams from Lisbon, London, and New York. Here in Prague, we have teams specializing in frontend development (including mobile, TV, and web), backend development (Java), DevOps & Platform Engineering, AWS, and data science. 

  

What is the plot?  

  

As part of GST Data Department, you’ll work with some of the largest datasets in the Czech Republic, building solutions that directly power Sky’s global streaming ecosystem. The environment is fast-growing yet dynamic and hands-on, giving you space to define how things are done and influence the technical direction.  

  

What role will you play? 

  

You will be part of a dynamic team developing and maintaining various projects to support the data processing needs. You’ll contribute to core projects such as data quality framework for all VOD data, CI/CD pipelines, or data transformation. 

 

  

Your daily tasks: 

  

Develop new features and get feedback on them from internal stakeholders. Help your team solve coding or architecture issues and develop best practices. Experiment, innovate, and introduce new technologies to the team. Optimize your code, and your team’s code, for performance. Maintain existing codebase, investigate and resolve issues found in it and work on its improvements. Work with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to understand features and provide valuable technical feedback on new initiatives – be part of feature development from start to finish. 

  

What skills do you need to play your role well?  

  

Proficiency in Python is a must (experience with Java or Scala is a plus) Understanding of software engineering principles and best practices, especially backend development  Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, CI/CD pipelines and modern infrastructure practices. Ability to work well not only in your team but also in cross-team environment.  Being self-driven and eager to learn.  Creative thinking skills and analytical skills, with attention to detail.  Fluent English.
