Purchasing Specialist
Job Title: Purchasing Specialist Job Description As a Procurement Specialist, you will provide operational procurement services to business partners within the Tier 1/Tier 2 Transactions group. Your role involves reviewing purchase requests, determining the appropriate method for fulfillment, and completing purchasing activities for basic and medium-complexity requests. You will also reassign complex and higher-value purchase requests as needed and deliver medium-complexity procurement issue resolution services to supply chain operations staff, business partners, and suppliers. Responsibilities + Execute basic and medium-complexity operational procurement transactions to ensure business partner satisfaction and operational efficiency. + Source requisitions and issue purchase orders, including blanket purchase orders for internal customers, according to company policies, processes, and procedures. + Update purchase orders based on change orders and other needs. + Obtain acknowledgment of purchase order receipts from suppliers and update purchase orders accordingly. + Maintain good relationships with business partners and suppliers through high-level customer service while supporting the category strategies established by Strategic Procurement. + Collaborate with the Supply Chain Center of Excellence, Strategic Procurement, and business partners on sourcing events, projects, and other initiatives to address recurring issues, improve efficiency, and improve satisfaction. Essential Skills + Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, and purchase order management. + Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, finance, supply chain, or a related field OR 4 years of relevant procurement or service center experience. + At least 2 years of relevant customer service and/or procurement experience. + Proficiency with ERP systems and negotiation skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills. + Proficiency with procurement systems. + Strong customer-oriented mindset. + Ability to be persuasive and build credibility. + Good understanding of procurement processes, policies, and tools. Work Environment This role requires the contract worker to work onsite at 1 Riverside Plaza, Columbus, OH, five days per week. The preferred working schedule is from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, which can be discussed. The role offers a long-term opportunity with potential for conversion after the contract length and opportunities for extension. Employees will receive 2 weeks of PTO and holiday pay for 8 holidays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, Ohio. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.75 - $29.75/hr.
