Description

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Purchasing team to achieve financial, quality, safety, and warranty objectives. This role oversees subordinate departmental leaders and functions, including Commodity Buyers, Plant MRO Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Facilities.

Prior management experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Implementation & Procurement Systems

Support SAP launch activities for ProcurementInterface with cross‑functional SAP teamsDevelop SAP implementation plans and readiness trackingPrepare SAP monthly reports, including development plans versus actuals and readiness statusManage the transition from Oracle to SAP systems (S/4HANA and Ariba)Lead SAP training initiatives for direct and indirect Procurement buyersCoordinate and manage SAP training for suppliersLead internal and external SAP issue resolution related to Procurement

Leadership & Team Management

Identify, develop, and retain key talent within the departmentEffectively manage team members to ensure individual and departmental successOversee the tactical operations of materials management, purchasing, and other assigned functions

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with inventory management to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory planningCollaborate with Sales, Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to align objectives and executionIdentify supplier opportunities and challenges, working with Product Management to drive effective resolutions

Strategic Sourcing & Initiatives

Lead contract discussions, negotiations, and implementation with cross‑functional stakeholdersSupport and lead innovation initiatives, including Carbon Neutrality and Corporate Social Responsibility efforts

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related field7+ years of position-related experienceSAP experience requiredJob Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $57.69/hr.
