Purchasing Manager
Description Sara Walker with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team in Sherwood, Oregon. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build lasting relationships with contractors and project teams throughout the Pacific Northwest. As a key partner in the construction and infrastructure sector, you will focus on driving business growth, managing customer relationships, and ensuring operational alignment. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with contractors and project teams across the region. • Conduct regular site visits, job walks, and account reviews to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities. • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and estimators to align solutions with construction schedules and project pipelines. • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and through proactive prospecting efforts. • Partner with Operations and Dispatch teams to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with customer needs. • Utilize CRM tools such as Salesforce to track opportunities, manage pipelines, and provide accurate reporting. • Stay informed on industry trends within utility, telecom, civil, and infrastructure sectors to anticipate market demands. • Represent the organization with attention to detail at job sites, meetings, and industry events. • Provide detailed regional market insights and customer activity updates to support strategic decision-making. • Ensure consistent communication and reliable follow-through to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Job Order: 03600-0013385775 Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in outside sales, business development, or a senior operational role with direct customer interaction. • Strong knowledge of utility, telecom, civil, or infrastructure construction sectors, particularly in the Pacific Northwest. • Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture long-term customer relationships. • Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce or similar platforms. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong ability to follow through on commitments. • Familiarity with construction project schedules and pipelines to anticipate client needs. • Ability to represent the organization professionally in both field environments and industry events.
