Job Description
The Purchasing Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting buyers and managers by performing essential administrative tasks. This includes entering, organizing, and coordinating data to ensure department records and MRP systems are current and accurate. You will be responsible for sending required correspondence to suppliers, organizing their replies, and obtaining any missing data or documentation from the supply base. Additionally, you will be expected to fulfill low-level buyer responsibilities as needed.
ResponsibilitiesObtain and verify responses for open Purchase Order (PO) reports and notify buyers of issues.Review and expedite production shortages in coordination with buyers.Coordinate PO schedule changes with suppliers and buyers.Obtain and file supplier PO confirmations.Resolve receiving issues with the receiving department.Scan all documents to on-base folders.Send correspondence to suppliers and coordinate, organize, and summarize responses as necessary.Obtain missing documentation or information from suppliers.Run daily reports on Birst, ZAP, and M3.Perform miscellaneous duties as backup to Maintenance Repair & Operations (MRO) Buyer when necessary with direction from Manager.Monitor MRP system for PO proposals for simple repeat buys and place timely, intelligent, well-planned production PO’s that ensure timely delivery while meeting target inventory levels.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree preferably in business or finance from a four-year college or university, or two to five years of purchasing and/or buyer experience, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing.Bilingual Spanish & English both written and verbal.Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Experience with large-company ERP systems such as M3, People Soft, Oracle or SAP, with ability to analyze requirements, react to demands, enter data in correct fields, and execute and manage purchase orders.Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel.Additional Skills & QualificationsExposure to Spread Sheet Server, ZAP, and Birst is preferred.Basic knowledge of commodities and commercial terms for placing purchase orders.Ability to navigate and proficiently use other IT reports, such as Zodiac Analytics Platform (ZAP).Willingness to travel from Chihuahua, Mx location to Carson, California location as required for training and projects.Work Environment
The role involves working with a variety of technologies and systems, including M3, People Soft, Oracle, SAP, ZAP, and Birst. You will be part of a dynamic team that requires travel between locations for training and projects. The position demands proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel. The dress code is professional business attire.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
