Purchasing Assistant
Job Title: Purchasing Assistant Job Description The Purchasing Assistant supports the purchasing team in sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring goods and services necessary for the organization’s operations. This role ensures timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining compliance with company policies and vendor agreements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities + Support the purchasing team in sourcing and negotiating with vendors. + Acquire necessary goods and services for the organization’s operations. + Ensure procurement processes are timely and cost-effective. + Maintain compliance with company policies and vendor agreements. + Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills + Experience in purchase order, purchasing, and procurement processes. + Administrative support and inventory management skills. + Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. + Ability to learn and work within the company ERP system. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. + 1–3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or administrative support (can be from an internship) + Open-minded and motivated self-starter with exposure to purchasing and inventory practices. Work Environment The role is based on-site and requires presence five days a week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Durham, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
