Job Description
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting Buyers with the evaluation and selection of vendors and supplies, ensuring they meet standards of pricing, quality, availability, and reliability. You will be responsible for identifying and categorizing customer orders that require immediate attention, based on predetermined criteria such as urgency or specific requirements, and collaborate with the purchasing team to prioritize these orders.
ResponsibilitiesAssist Buyers in researching, evaluating, and selecting vendors and supplies based on pricing, quality, availability, and reliabilityIdentify and categorize customer orders as 'High Alert' based on urgency, customer importance, or specific requirementsCollaborate with the purchasing team to prioritize 'High Alert' ordersRegularly update stakeholders about potential delays or opportunitiesCoordinate closely with sales, production, logistics, purchasing, and customer experience teams for seamless operationsCommunicate special requirements related to 'High Alert' ordersMaintain open communication with Customer Experience Reps, providing updates on escalated challengesAddress concerns or inquiries promptly and professionallyLiaise with vendors to expedite procurement and ensure on-time delivery for 'High Alert' ordersCoordinate special arrangements for tight deadlines, delivery schedules, or specific customer needsEnsure procurement documentation complies with company policiesGenerate regular reports summarizing 'High Alert' order fulfillment performanceEssential SkillsBasic understanding of purchasing and procurement processes (training provided)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency in MS Office, particularly ExcelExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesWillingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsRecent graduates in Business, Supply Chain, or related fields are encouraged to apply1+ years of purchasing experience is a plus, but not requiredBackground in food & beverage is preferred, but not mandatoryProficiency in MS Excel is highly valuedPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
