Purchasing Agent
Job Title: Purchasing Agent

Responsibilities

Purchase equipment needed for manufacturing and office operations, focusing on electrical components, steel, and office supplies.Secure equipment and hotel rentals for installations at job sites.Enter data using Excel and other Microsoft programs, as the operation does not use an ERP system.Negotiate with vendors for supplies.Prepare paperwork for customers, including quotes, purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading.

Essential Skills

2+ years of purchasing experience, ideally in manufacturing or at a food plant.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office platforms.Ability to work independently and wear multiple hats.Experience in purchase orders, supply chain, buying, data entry, negotiation, inventory, and vendor management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.Experience with smaller-sized operations is preferred over large, high-tech corporations.Comfortable working independently as the sole purchaser on staff.

Work Environment

You will work alongside the General Manager, the head of engineering, and other office staff in a small office attached to a warehouse. The dress code is casual, and the team includes several employees with long tenure. The company offers flexibility for personal appointments during the day, provided work commitments are met, fostering independence for those who prefer not to be micro-managed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $33.65/hr.
