Are you a detail-oriented professional with experience in procurement and inventory management? Platte River is looking for a **Purchasing Agent** to join our team, supporting company-wide operations through strategic purchasing and warehouse management.
**Position Overview**
As a **Purchasing Agent** , you will be responsible for acquiring materials, supplies, and spare parts essential for daily operations, maintenance, and courier activities. You’ll serve as a **subject matter expert (SME)** for purchasing and warehouse-related software and processes while maintaining inventory levels and warehouse cleanliness.
**Work Environment & Schedule**
+ Full-time, **100% onsite** at both **Fort Collins headquarters** and **our Energy Station north of Wellington** .
+ **Monday & Wednesday** at **Wellington** , **Tuesday & Thursday** at **headquarters** .
+ Due to **24/7 operations** , availability to respond to purchasing needs outside of normal hours is required.
+ Personal transportation to/from work is necessary.
+ **Pay: $73 - $85k / year**
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Process requisitions, purchase materials, follow up with vendors, and resolve procurement issues.
+ Identify and collaborate with vendors, obtain quotes, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
+ Assist with warehouse operations, including inventory cycle counts, materials shipping, heavy lifting, and forklift operation.
+ Maintain strong relationships with vendors and carriers, ensuring timely deliveries and outgoing shipments.
+ Provide excellent **customer service** for both internal and external purchasing needs.
+ Ensure optimal inventory levels and uphold warehouse cleanliness for efficiency and safety.
+ Work with **accounts payable** to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
+ Serve as an **SME** in purchasing and warehouse software implementation and training.
**Additional Functions**
+ Assist with **certificate of insurance** processing and vendor records maintenance.
+ Provide **backup coverage** for warehouse locations.
+ Participate in **department and safety meetings** .
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
+ **Experience:** 2–3 years in a **purchasing-specific role** using an **enterprise ERP system** (Oracle Cloud preferred).
+ **Technical Skills:** Intermediate proficiency in **Office 365** and **asset management software** .
+ **Education:** High school diploma or **GED** or higher.
+ **Key Strengths:** Strong attention to detail, organization skills, task prioritization, and time management.
+ **Ability to work more than 40 hours per week when needed** .
