- Lead the development and management of local/regional materials strategies designed to leverage BW's collective buying power, ensuring maximizing synergy opportunities to optimize supplier performance, overall sourcing cost reduction while meeting our technology expectations across the supply chain. Ensure that the deliverables of the plans developed meet the strategies designed. Negotiate contracts with key suppliers.
- Promote the bidding and implementation of the strategies for materials required by the Internal and External Customer.

- Purchase of products and services with the best negotiation strategies.
- Review of comparative commercial charts for decision making in the generation of purchase orders.  
- Supervise agreements with suppliers, of any complexity and/or with critical suppliers.
- Adequate management of the respective modules in SAP corresponding to the Purchasing business system (ERP).
- Compliance with performance and cost metrics that are aligned to business strategies and established objectives to develop plans to ensure compliance. The review of results will be based on these objectives.
- Incorporates the tools and principles of standardization, 5S's, TPM and continuous improvement into their work.
- Ensure that purchases of products or services are authorized and comply with quality, safety, health, environment and hygiene regulations.
- Be informed and execute actions on issues related to safety, environment, ergonomics and quality that apply to your area of responsibility.
- Active participation in the raw material supply chain.
- Ensure compliance and knowledge of all safety, environmental, quality, labor and other applicable measures; as well as of the employees and/or contractors in their charge.
- Ensure full compliance with the elements corresponding to the GSSF. 
- Supervise the successful selection and evaluation of suppliers and/or contractors. Optimizing the supplier base. 
- Hold negotiations with suppliers to improve commercial agreements in favor of the company and within the Company's policies.
- Participate in the formulation of the budget and control its execution.
- Supervise the personnel in his area.
- Ensure the continuous improvement of the processes in his area.
- Analyze purchasing statistics and future projects.
- Work together with the GSM team to maximize supplier savings and ensure alignment with corporate strategies.
- Participate as a manager in the monitoring of the following systems: GSSF, quality management, environmental management, safety management and C-TPAT.
