**Job Title: Pump Mechanic (Nights)**
Job Description
Join a dynamic service and repair company as a Pump Mechanic, where you will work in the shop to recondition a variety of pumps from the field. You'll be responsible for repairing, refurbishing, overhauling, and dismantling pumps, including split case pumps, overhung pumps, horizontal pumps, and multistage pumps, using blueprints and drawings as your guide.
Responsibilities
+ Recondition pumps based on blueprints and drawings.
+ Repair, refurbish, overhaul, and dismantle a variety of pumps.
+ Utilize scales, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
+ Perform alignments and overhauls on pumps.
+ Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
+ Operate various machinery including lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and grinders.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pump Mechanic in a pump shop.
+ Proficiency in handling all types of pumps, both vertical and horizontal.
+ Strong capability in blueprint reading and interpretation.
+ Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with multistage or horizontal pumps.
+ Proficient in balancing bearings and working on seals and gaskets.
+ Manual machining experience with VTL or HBM.
+ Welding experience including MIG, TIG, and Heliarc.
+ Familiar with operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and acetylene torches.
+ Knowledge of Tier 1, 2, and 3 pump systems.

Work Environment
The work environment is a medium-sized, air-conditioned shop that is bustling with activity and business. Though currently tight on space, the facility will be expanding to a larger location in the near future.
Night shift team, working **Monday to Friday from 3:30 PM to 2:30 AM** , and **Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM** .
10% shift differential.
Work attire includes steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses.
The schedule involves working 10-hour shifts, with two paid breaks and an unpaid lunch, accumulating 50 to **60+ hours** weekly.
Occasionally, work may extend to Sundays, offering double time pay.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of southeast Houston, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
