**Job Title: Pump Mechanic (Days)** **Job Description** Join a dynamic service and repair company specializing in pumps and rotating equipment as a Pump Mechanic. You will be responsible for working in the shop to recondition pumps from the field, guided by blueprints and drawings. Your expertise will be crucial in repairing, refurbishing, overhauling, and dismantling a variety of pumps, including split case, overhung, horizontal, and multistage pumps. **Must Haves** + 7+ years of experience as a Pump Mechanic. + Proficiency in repairing, refurbishing, overhauling, and dismantling pumps. + Knowledge of both vertical and horizontal pumps. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Experience in using scales, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. **Responsibilities** + Recondition pumps based on blueprints and drawings. + Repair, refurbish, overhaul, and dismantle various types of pumps. + Read and interpret blueprints accurately. + Utilize scales, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. + Perform mechanical alignments, boring, and assembly tasks. + Work with compressors, turbines, overhung, reciprocating, and deep well pumps. **Why Work Here** Enjoy a work environment that places a huge emphasis on employee care, offering extremely high pay rates and negotiable PTO. The shop is air-conditioned, though currently tight on space, with plans to move to a larger facility in 2024 or 2025. The day shift includes 7 manual machinists, 10 pump mechanics, and 1 welder, while the night shift comprises 3 manual machinists, 8 pump mechanics, and 1 welder. Employees enjoy good tenure and a supportive environment, with safety gear including steel-toed shoes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses provided. Day shift runs Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Saturday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, including paid breaks and an unpaid lunch. Expect to work 10-hour shifts, accumulating 50 to 60 hours weekly, with occasional Sundays at double time. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
