The DVP Procurement leads Sigma's enterprise-wide procurement function, establishing the vision, strategy, and governance for sourcing meat, dairy, and material categories. The role builds competitive advantage through supplier partnerships, cross‑functional alignment, and proactive risk management. Reporting to the EVP of Operations & Supply Chain, this leader ensures reliable, cost-effective, and compliant supply across all categories.
Key Responsibilities

Define and communicate procurement vision aligned with business strategy to Sales, Operations, R&D, Finance, IBP, and global partners.
Develop and enhance procurement policies, frameworks, and long‑range strategies that anticipate future business needs.
Collaborate with global procurement teams to leverage scale, harmonize processes, and optimize sourcing approaches.
Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic and emerging suppliers aligned with company values and long‑term goals.
Lead supplier business reviews to support performance, transparency, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Maintain a diversified supplier base to reduce risk and enable capability development across key partners.
Lead high‑impact negotiations and oversee capability assessments to ensure quality, service, and brand protection.
Forecast procurement needs by integrating production, inventory, and sales plans to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Conduct risk assessments and scenario modeling to manage commodity, pricing, supply, and regulatory volatility.
Ensure alignment between internal requirements and supplier capabilities for smooth execution and issue resolution.
Monitor industry and regulatory trends to inform strategic decisions and compliance.
Partner across IBP, Logistics, Operations, R&D, and Co‑Manufacturing to strengthen planning and supply reliability.
Lead modernization initiatives to standardize procurement tools, processes, data, and ensure food safety compliance.
Drive cost‑savings, value creation, and productivity improvements supporting short‑ and long‑term goals.
Lead, mentor, and develop category leader teams, building capability in analytics, negotiation, supplier management, and strategy.
Foster a high‑performance culture emphasizing discipline, reliability, quality, continuous improvement, and ownership.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Finance, or related field
Ten years of progressive procurement or sourcing leadership
Preferred: MBA or advanced degree; bilingual English/Spanish

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Deep procurement expertise in food manufacturing, especially meat, dairy, and ingredient categories
Strong negotiation skills supporting long‑term supplier partnerships
Ability to model commodity markets, supply risks, pricing trends, and develop contingency strategies
Advanced analytical and data‑driven decision‑making skills
Strong record of delivering consistent quality, cost control, and supply continuity
Experience developing high‑performing teams
Ability to operate effectively in global or multi‑country sourcing environments

Environment & Physical Requirements

Travel up to 50%
Office environment with typical physical requirements including sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
