Job Description
We are seeking a PR/Communications Specialist who will play a pivotal role in increasing awareness about our operations, including mining, quarries, and asphalt plants. This position offers a viable option for a lucrative career path post-high school, with opportunities to progress into operations or management roles. The ideal candidate will engage with the marketplace for recruiting purposes and monitor social media for engagement, customer service, and recruiting opportunities.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor social media platforms for engagement, customer service, and recruiting opportunities, and actively participate in social media conversations on behalf of the organization.Design and develop presentations and communication tools for use by senior management.Collaborate on strategic recruitment programs and initiatives to assist in the recruitment process.Capture studio-quality photographs and videos, edit content, and build a library of videos focused on safety, recruiting, branding, and marketing.Generate written communications, announcements, articles, and flyers for all lines of business.Coordinate company submissions for national and regional recognition.Continuously seek new ways to improve communication strategy.Oversee the company newsletter and website while collaborating with the Communications team.Participate and speak at local and regional events, charities, and community outreach programs to increase organizational awareness.Essential SkillsProven project coordination skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to communicate effectively across various audiences, from site operators to the company president.Experience in an outward-facing role, including social media posting to drive candidate engagement.Experience with MS Excel and graphic design programs.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of communications/public relations experience.Proficiency in graphic design tools such as inDesign or Adobe Pro.Strong interest in candidate engagement.Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization.Work Environment
The role operates on a hybrid schedule, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Monthly travel to sites is required to create and post content that showcases the organization as a solid place to work, driving candidate interest.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
