We are currently seeking a Psychiatric Technician to provide high-quality behavioral health services to military service members, their families, and veterans at Joint Base Andrews, MD.

Position Highlights:Pay Rate: $30.00/hour + Health and Welfare stipendComprehensive Benefits Package:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance401(k) Retirement PlanPaid Time Off (PTO) and Sick LeaveWork Schedule: Monday – Friday, 0730–1630 (9-hour shift with a 1-hour lunch break)Qualifications:Education:Graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program orCompletion of an equivalent education and experience that meets the standards of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians orCompletion of military training as a Behavioral ScienceSpecialist/Technician with proof of an Armed Forces psychiatric technician course or a civilian-accredited course in behavioral health patient care.Certification:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current and obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; maintained at contractor’s expense).Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Psychiatric Technician post-graduation.Experience in:Administering, scoring, and reporting psychological test resultsConducting biopsychosocial interviewsSupporting clinical staff in implementing treatment plansConducting briefings and substance abuse counselingPrimary Responsibilities May Include:Assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with mental health conditionsPerform initial assessments, including interviews, mental status exams, and psychological testingParticipate in care planning, patient education, and case conferencesProvide individual and group counseling and therapeutic supportMonitor patient safety and implement precautionary measuresSupport general patient care—vitals, hygiene, comfort, and nutritionMaintain accurate medical records and documentationCoordinate referrals and collaborate with military and civilian agenciesConduct in-service training, participate in quality assessments, and compile reportsEducate patients and staff on mental health and substance abuse preventionSupport crisis interventions and assist patients experiencing acute or post-traumatic stressWhy USGP?
